Founded in 1999 in St John’s, Michigan, Account Receivable Solutions is a third-party debt collection agency. While Account Receivable Solutions advertises that they handle collections for the retail, utilities, and financial services industries, they mainly service the healthcare industry, going after patients for unpaid medicals bills relating to hospital and doctor's office visits. Account Receivable Solutions advertises several collection practices and notes that they seek debt litigation when they see a high probability in collecting. Also offering non-delinquent accounts receivable collection outsourcing, Account Receivable Solutions operates under the affiliate name Integrity Consulting Group, LLC.

While the local St John's branch of the Better Business Bureau opened a file on Account Receivable Solutions in 2005, they have yet to give them accreditation, perhaps due to the consumer complaints filed against them for issues with their billing and collection practices. Boasting the use of “strategic” telephone campaigns, Account Receivable Solutions declares on their website that they are able to collection on accounts when others have failed.

Stop Account Receivable Solutions Harassment

If you are being harassed by debt collectors, you should know that you have rights under the Fair Dept Collection Practices Act that protect you from such behavior. Enacted by Congress to put an end to abusive, deceptive, and unfair debt collection practices by unscrupulous debt collectors, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a guideline that debt collectors must follow in every aspect of their communications with consumers.

Regarding the acceptable communications between a debt collector and a consumer, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act states that a debt collector may not contact the consumer at any unusual time outside the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. or inconvenient place, such as the consumer's workplace, if personal calls are not allowed. If a consumer advises a debt collector that they may not contact them at their place of employment, the debt collector must immediately cease calling. When communicating with a consumer, debt collectors may not use any abusive or offensive language, such as insulting or belittling a consumer or using racial slurs. They may not continuously call a consumer or repeatedly engage them in conversation in an effort to annoy them into paying their debt, nor are they allowed to try to humiliate or embarrass a consumer into paying their debt.

If you are being harassed by a debt collector, you can request in writing that they stop contacting you, and they must cease all communications, with the exception of notifying you that they are no longer collecting your debt, or that they are seeking legal action against you. Failure to comply with any of the provisions of the FDCPA may result in up to $1,000 in damages if found guilty in court.
